【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodmeasuresthesewnseamstrengthinwovenfabricsbyapplyingaforceperpendiculartothesewnseams.Note1ThegrabtestprocedureinTestMethodD5034shallbeusedtodetermineanycharacteristicinfabricthatcanaffectthemeasurementofsewnseamstrength.1.1.1Thistestmethodisapplicabletosewnseamsobtainedfromapreviouslysewnarticleorseamssewnwithfabricsamplesusingeitheraspecificseamassembly(seeTable1),orproductionseamassemblies.1.2Thistestmethodisusedwhenabreakingforcetorupture,aminimumelongation,orbotharerequiredtodeterminethesewnseamstrength,seamslippage,orseamintegrityofaparticularfabricforaspecifiedenduse.Note2ThistestmethodisusedinconjunctionwithTestMethodD5034,whichisusedtomeasurebreakingforceandelongationoftextilefabrics.Sewnseamsinwovenfabricscanfailduetorupture,slippage,oranycombinationthereof.Rupturecanbefurthercategorizedasfailureorfabric,orsewingthread,orseamslippage.1.3Thistestmethoddoesnotpredictactualwearperformanceofaseam.1.4Thevaluesstatedineitheracceptablemetricunits(SI)orinotherunitsshallberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesexpressedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;thereforeeachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother,withoutcombiningvaluesinanyway.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
